Fall 2015 Fashion Trends

Hello All!

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday! Today, I am sharing with you some of my favorite fashion trends with you. As summer is ending and winter is coming, the weather can be quite different in certain areas. In New England, these first few fall days have been in the 90s, however, cooler air is right around the corner. I have given two outfits, one for the cooler days and one for the warmer days.

Denim jacket with leggings:

This outfit is one that can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the accessories worn with it. For example, this light pink statement necklace softens this look by adding a pop of girly color. The light pink also adds fun to   the dark brown combat boots. The denim shirt can be found at Old Navy, Target, or American Eagle, and all can be found at reasonable prices. Denim shirts have been trending in the last year and for good reason. Traditionally, denim is only seen in pants or jackets, so this modern twist on a traditional design is all the talk. These shirts can either be worn with white pants or black leggings. {I prefer leggings because they are so much more comfortable}.

Patterned romper:

As the warmer days are coming to an end, rompers have been my go to. They are such an easy outfit to put together and look so dressy. Here, I have picked out a nice patterned romper from Target, and paired it with a red statement necklace and red sandals. Red has definitely made its way back into the fashion world this fall. During fashion week, this color has popped up everywhere and accessorizes well with black and white.

In the center section, I picked out a rose gold bracelet from Alex and Ani. I am absolutely loving the rose gold color and loving the newly found popularity in it.

White nails have also been becoming more popular. I love the design on the ring finger as well.

And what’s fall without pumpkins??? This Pumpkin Spice candle from Yankee Candles smells absolutely delicious!

Lastly, an insulated Camelbak water bottle. It’s very important to stay hydrated in this fall season! The insulation in this Camelbak keeps the water cooler and I find that the water bottle doesn’t “sweat” as much. I love this purple and blue combination; it’s so cute!

The Best and simplest active girl hairstyle

FullSizeRender_3 Hello all!

This is one of my sisters favorite hairstyles! She sports this look for her soccer and basketball games. It keeps her hair out of her face and out-of-the-way. This hairstyle can also be adjusted for a girl with bangs or with short hair. My sister is currently growing out her bangs, and this hairstyle still works for her. Without further ado:

Single French Back into a Braided Ponytail

  1. Brush or comb all hair backwards, making sure there are no snarls left in the hair.
  2. Part the hair in line with the outside point of the eyebrow on both sides of the head. Make sure this line is as straight as possible! If you do not have a rat-tooth comb, you can use an old dull pen.FullSizeRender
  3. Part a third line at the middle of the head. This part should be at the spot a ponytail would usually sit on the head. The two parts from Step 2 should meet at this newly made part.
  4. Gather all hair that is not in the parted section, and tie it at the bottom of the head. This hair should be completely out of the way.FullSizeRender_1
  5. Begin french braiding the parted section. Spray the hair with water when needed.
  6. When done braiding the parted hair, secure the hair with a rubber elastic
  7. Release the non parted hair from the bottom of the head.
  8. Brush the hair into a ponytail. Make sure the ponytail is positioned where the french braiding ends.
  9. When the ponytail is completed, braid the ponytail down into a three stranded braid and secure with a rubber elastic.
  10. Add hairspray if needed.

I hope you enjoy doing this hairstyle on either yourself, your daughter, or your sister. This hairstyle can really work for any type of event and keeps the hair out of the girl’s face.

The Best and Simplest Smoothie Recipe

Hello all!

Today I will share with you my go-to healthy treat. I find this recipe to be one of the simplest smoothies out there, and it is one of the tastiest. I hope you love it as much as me.

  • 1.5 cups milk {orange juice can be substituted}
  • 10 frozen strawberries
  • 2 bananas
  • Blender

  1. Gather your ingredients and put them in a blender
  2. Blend the smoothie until constant throughout
  3. Poor smoothie into two large cups and enjoy!

This really is the simplest and healthiest smoothie out there. Of course, substitutions can be made for the fruit depending on your preference. The amount of milk can also be added if you prefer a thin smoothie or lessened if you like a thicker smoothie.
